I went and had lunch at the Indian restaurant with a friend of mine. We hadn't been in a while, so we met up at 11:00, before she had to be at work.
While we were there, I saw a lady who was, at youngest, in her mid-40s, wearing a short denim skirt that was totally age-inappropriate. That skirt looked like something an elementary-school girl should have been wearing, little pockets and all.
Now, there's nothing wrong with wearing denim skirts -- you just can't look like you made a grown-up size version of a third-grader's skirt!

So... You went out to a restaurant in niqab? How did that go?
ReplyDeleteOh, no, no niqab today. I don't wear it all the time, but I like to wear it as often as possible. All of my abayas are in the wash right now, so I'm wearing a purple knee-length coat with jeans and a bright pink hijab today. I just didn't think that a niqab would work with the coat. : ) If I wear niqab next time, they'll seat me in the second room (there are two big rooms in the restaurant), in the corner with a nice screen, and I'll have a lady waitress. : ) Niqabis are treated very well at this restaurant. ^_^
ReplyDeleteI almost forgot - tell me when you get that book, caraboska. I'd love to hear your thoughts on it.
ReplyDeleteCool beans! So you could eat there and even take off your niqab! Super! Have to wait until at least one of my customers with outstanding bills pays me. Supposed to happen any day now, but when it does, I'll get the book :)
