Winter Sonata, Korean drama
On a lighter note, I just found out that they're doing an animated version of my favorite K-drama, "Winter Sonata". It stars these two lovlies: Bae Yong-Jun and Choi Ji-Woo. I admit, I have a bit of a crush on the handsome Yong-Jun. He's a huge star in Asia, and has a massive following in Japan. ^_^

this is going to be so bad...it took me a second to realize that there was a male in the pics.sorry.
ReplyDeleteI remember seeing advertisements for this all over the pachinko in Japan - I thought it looked like a cute story, but never got around to watching it. :)
ReplyDeleteTuttie: My husband is always asking me about the gender of someone in a Japanese movie or tv show. It happens a lot, no worries! lol ^_^
A Korean who has a following in Japan??? He must be really special... I suppose in Muslim circles it is particularly hard to tell the gender of a lot of Asian men, because they are completely unable to grow a beard. I remember a guy on my floor freshman year in college tried, it was all of six hairs and grew maybe one inch if that during the entire first semester. And not a hair to be seen on either arms or legs... But yeah, this guy is pretty cute :)
ReplyDeleteTuttie: LOL! I know, he's terribly pretty, isn't he?
ReplyDeletecaraboska: LOL! Yeah, my former squad leader was like that. He was part-Chinese via South America, and he could go days without shaving and nobody noticed. ^_^
Sophia: Yeah, it really is a great story. Yes, it has some of the usual elements present in American soap operas, but there is a believability to the romance between Joon-sang/Min-hyung (Yong-Jun's character) and Yujin (Ji-Woo's character). I highly recommend it if you get the chance to watch it. I scored the dvd box set at a Half Price Books for $10 -- silly people didn't know what they had!
