Big news.

I can't really explain the mental hoops I've gone through over the last 2 years. I've shared some of them with you all, but only a fraction of them have made it into this blog, especially in the last year, with my deployment and all. I don't have time to change my blog right now.

However, this is big news. I'm happy, and I feel a sense of peace in my faith that I haven't felt in a while. This will seem abrupt to all but one of you, but...

  2. Mashallah, Heather!

Yes, any excuse to use my favorite Arabic word will do... :D

Because I am inveterately nosey, if you have the time and/or inclination, I for one would like to hear how you came to the decision. If it's too personal, though, I understand.

  6. LK: Thank you! And I hope that you also find what you're looking for. :)

Amber: LOL! I like that word, too. It's not too personal, and I'll work on putting a blog entry together about it. It's going to take a lot of time to compose, I think, but I'll get it here as soon as I can, inshallah. :)

Susanne: Oh, you did, did you? Couldn't you have warned me? LOL I had no clue.

Sarah Muhammad: Assalamu aleikum! You thought it was coming, too? Wow. Why was I the last to know? LOL

Nikki: Assalamu aleikum! Thank you. I hope to only grow in peace and faith from now on, inshallah.

  11. Mabrook and all the best! Its been awhile since I've blogged hasn't it? I know this has been a long process for you, but I'm sure you'll feel more confident in your identity as you learn more.

  12. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.

It is obvious why Muslims reading this would say Mabruk. I am completely shocked that those among us who identify as Christians are saying Mabruk to a person who has turned her back on the redemption that is absolutely necessary in order for us to come to God for the right reasons (neither for fear of punishment, nor for desire of reward, but for God only), and to escape the idolatry inherent in any attempt to earn our salvation in any measure by our own deeds - the redemption that is to be found only in one place, namely in Jesus Christ. I would say more, except it's all been said already. As for me, I will serve the Lord.

  13. Caraboska,

It's because they all respect my right to believe what I wish and don't judge me through the lens of their own beliefs, while you judge me through your own strict filter of what you think the Bible tells you. Think what you want, I respect your right to do so, but I don't want to hear it.
