Just a few more days!

The countdown is on! By this time next week, I'll be able to wear hijab/niqab full-time! I'm so excited about it.

I'm also very excited to see that there are some new people following my blog. Hello to you all!

And I got that adorable pink khimar with attached niqab from eBay (as you can see in the photo above). It's very comfy, and has some awesome air circulation, so I don't get too hot, even with niqab in 103-degree weather. *sweats just thinking about it* The only downside is that one side opens, so I either have to pin it shut, or I have to wear a hijab underneath. *sigh*

How are all of you doing? Anything interesting going on in your lives?

  1. Is that a presewn khimar or do you have it pinned somewhere? It is really cute!

I've never tried wearing a niqab in extreme heat, but I suspect the fabric type and thickness has a lot to do with whether you can tolerate it.

So does whether you can wear it full-time or not have to do with being in the army? That would make sense.

  2. as a fellow niqabi (Muslim) I love that pink number you have there and where can I buy it? Are you going to do a big hoopla about it? or are you just going to put it on and go about your day?

  3. For Stacy: Well, it's partly presewn, but the niqab part is just tucked into the headband. It stays in place surprisingly well, and the fabric is light and has great air circulation. Yes, the fabric type makes a HUGE difference, especially in hot weather.

Yep, that's why I can't wear it full-time yet. I will be able to in a few more days, though!

For Tuttie: I bought this on eBay for $16.99 from the seller unique_hijabs (here's the address: http://stores.shop.ebay.com/HIJAB-CHIC__W0QQ_armrsZ1). She has the khimar/niqab combo in a few colors, and I'm sure she could make you a pink one if you wanted.

  5. How did what go? (Sorry if I'm not particularly quick today...my brain feels like it's in a haze.)

  6. I suspect she's asking about your shift to full-time niqabi. You said you only had a week left a week ago before you'd be free to do so. :)

  7. thanks Amber. That is what I meant. I tend to get all engross in the blogs I read so I like finding out the conclusion to whatever the post was about. You don't have to answer if you don't want to.
